At GASPED we have many volunteering opportunities and are constantly on the look out for new people to join our growing team. Below is the list of current volunteer opportunities available:-Outreach counsellor.Are you studying towards your Diploma in Counselling? Have you already completed your level 1,2 & 3 in counselling and counselling skills? Then you might want to consider coming to do a placement at GASPED. Our service covers the whole of Wakefield District and we want to make our services as accessible as possible to people living in some of the remote parts of Wakefield. If you are happy to travel and work in one of our already approved community bases then please get in touch with the counselling co-ordinator on 01924 787501. Help line VolunteerOur help line functions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you would like to help and offer a listening ear to families and carers in need of support then please get in touch with a member of the GASPED team. Listening and communication skills are impetrative and some kind of counselling skill qualification is desirable but not essential. What is important is that you can listen and offer advice to the person in need. It may be that you have personal experience of having a family member affected by substance misuse and want to help other people in a similar situation. Training will be given and you will always have the support of the help line supervisor anytime of day or night.
